Three years after the release of their debut album, Django Django unveiled ‘First Light’, the first single from the follow-up ‘Born Under Saturn’, in January. Song two came at the weekend, with the seven-inch edition of ‘Beginning To Fade’ made available for Record Store Day.
Both tracks show a band keen to move forward from the sound of their first album. ‘First Light’ marches forward with military precision and a chorus that floats over the top, and is currently among my favourite tracks of the year. ‘Beginning To Fade’, meanwhile, is more summery and psychedelic in tone, waltzing its way through a fine three minutes.
The album is due out on 4 May, with UK tour dates due to kick off in Aberdeen on 2 May. Watch the videos for ‘First Light’ and ‘Beginning To Fade’ here:
