Approved: Nick Nicely – London South

It’s over a year since Nick Nicely released his ‘Space Of A Second’ album. But does that mean it’s too late to release another single off it? Definitely not. Which is lucky, because that’s what he and Lo Recordings have just done with ‘London South’.
The single release for the track is completed by two brand new remixes. Grasscut up the song’s melancholy air, twisting it into a sort of sad lullaby that rises around you and slowly fills the room like a cloud of smoke. Meanwhile, Abul Mogard stretches it out to fifteen minutes, slowing it down and making it sound like it’s being whispered to passing traffic.
Then, of course, there’s the original version, which sits somewhere between these two disparate reworks of it.
