Officer, aka singer-songwriter David Logan, will release his debut album ‘Myriads’ on 31 Jul. Something only made possible when a group of fans got tired of waiting and crowdfunded the record behind his back.
Tracks like latest single ‘My Darling Defibrillator’ show exactly why he might command such an insistent fanbase. A slow builder, it marches forward with deliberate pace before falling into a dark-edged chorus that gives way to woozy synths. It perfectly complements his two previous single releases, the gently layered ‘Glass Ceiling’ and urgent ‘The Waters’.
It is, says Logan, “A song about being brought back to life by loads of lovers just going mental inside you in the kitchen burning lasagne caked in that squirty cream stuff whilst drinking vodka from saucepans from the cupboards of the top of my lungs’ hopeful ark of couldness when you’ve died a horribly hazey and hesitant death in there in your inmost”.
