London-based trio Violetic released their debut EP ‘Ethanol’ last December, but came to our attention just last week, thanks to a support slot under Marriages at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
Their sound is atmospheric and punchy, rushing at you through a fog of shoegazey guitar sounds. It works well when they slow things down too, ‘Ligature’ from the EP really showing off their potential with simplicity that draws you right in.
Catch them next on 14 May as part of the Alternative Escape programme at The Great Escape in Brighton, and supporting By The Rivers at the Brooklyn Bowl in London on 3 Jun.
