CMU Approved
Approved: Young Karin
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 9 March 2015
Young Karin released their debut EP, ‘No 1’, last year but have just stepped up its promotion once again after taking away the trophy for Debut Of The Year at last month’s Icelandic Music Awards.
Formerly known as Highlands, the project is the work of Karin Sveinsdóttir and Retro Stefson’s Logi Pedro Stefánsson – which, if you know his approved band’s work, gives you an idea of the duo’s potential.
They started strong with the release of the track ‘Hearts’ last year, showing off their bold blend of hip hop and pop. A year on, they’re back with a second video, for the EP’s closing track, ‘Sirens’.
