Joe Jackson has dropped his lawsuit against Conrad Murray, the doctor jailed for causing the death of Michael Jackson through negligence.

Jackson Senior first sued the medic for wrongful death in 2010 a year after his son’s untimely demise, but last week, according to TheWrap, he filed papers with the LA Superior Court asking that the case be dismissed without prejudice. Quite why Jackson has decided to end his litigation now isn’t clear, though given the incarcerated Murray’s circumstances the Jackson family patriarch was never likely to see much cash form the former medic, even if he won the case.

Katherine Jackson’s lawsuit against AEG Live, the promoters of the fated Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’ shows in London, who the Jackson family say should be held liable for Murray’s actions because they paid his bills, is ongoing.
