Lollapalooza Colombia cancelled after headliner pulls out
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 5 July 2016
The first edition of Lollapalooza Colombia has been cancelled, after a headliner pulled out and organisers were unable to find a replacement. The Colombian extension of the US festival was due to take place in Bogota on 17-18 Sep.
In a statement posted in Spanish on the event’s website, organisers said: “After its lead artist cancelled just hours before the festival was scheduled to announce them, and unable to find a suitable replacement, the organisers of the festival have been forced to cancel the inaugural edition of Lollapalooza Colombia”.
Local news reports claim that Rihanna was the artist who withdrew from the event. Artists including Lana Del Rey, Cage The Elephant, Wiz Khalifa, Disclosure, Silversun Pickups and Pennywise had already been announced.
Full refunds will be issued to those who had already purchased tickets.
