Motörhead wipe all live dates as Lemmy advised to take a break

Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister has been “immediately advised to rest”, having had “medical maintenance” last month (aka he had a defibrillator fitted to fix an irregular heartbeat, it appears).
All of which means Motörhead sadly won’t be playing any of the remaining live dates listed on their official page. The band cancelled several shows last month, apparently as Kilmister was having treatment for a severe haematoma.
Notably avoiding confirming any of the above medical complaints in a note to fans, Lemmy says: “I’d like to thank everyone who wish me well, it was a tough decision for me [cancelling the shows] as I don’t like to disappoint the fans, especially in times where economy is bad and people spent their money to see us. But sometimes you can’t do anything else than following doctor’s orders, but be sure we will be back and kick everybody’s ass”.
Ill health or no ill health, Lemmy et al’s new LP ‘Aftershock’ will still, adds the post, be released later this year.
