Snow Patrol’s Polar Patrol Publishing signs Belle & Sebastian

Polar Patrol, the publishing company owned by Snow Patrol, has announced a new deal with former Jeepster labelmates Belle & Sebastian. The deal covers the band’s ninth album, which is due for release through Matador Records later this year.
Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody told CMU: “We couldn’t be happier about signing Belle and Sebastian. We have known them for nearly 20 years as they were signed to Jeepster Records the same time we were in the mid-90s. They are an extraordinary band, who not only write great, enduring songs, but have over many years woven magic and wonder into tales of ordinary life. And in the time of Twitter when it seems every detail of every life is up there for all to see they somehow retain an element of rare and alluring mystery”.
Belle & Sebastian’s previous records are represented by Sony/ATV. Keeping things nice and circular, that original publishing deal was struck by then Sony/ATV A&R Manager Steve Farris, who is now a co-director at Polar Patrol.
