Ultra says Miami mayor no longer set on stopping the event in 2015

Organisers of the Ultra Music Festival say that moves to ban the dance music franchise from taking place in its original home of Miami next year have been called off.
As previously reported, Miami mayor Tomas Regalado was highly critical of the festival’s promoters after a security guard was seriously injured at this year’s edition when non-ticket-holders pushed over part of the event’s perimeter fence.
Regalado said that police had warned Ultra management about the particular length of fence where the incident took place, and because of their failure to do anything about it he would now seek to have the festival’s licence withdrawn ahead of their 2015 dates.
But Team Ultra, who defended their security provisions this year, but said that they would still look to make further improvements for 2015, have now told reporters that Regalado is no longer seeking to have the Miami date of the festival banned; though we still await official word from the mayor’s office.
