Young Thug has been given his own label, YSL Records, as a subsidiary of 300 Entertainment.

The rapper broke the news on Snapchat earlier this week, giving followers a tour of the company’s office and team. In the video, 300 co-founder Kevin Liles said: “[Young Thug] starting a new venture is going to take us to a different mindset. He’s not just an artist in this particular case”.

Although Young Thug has used the YSL name – standing for Young Stoner Life – in various ways in recent years, questions have already been raised over whether or not Yves Saint-Laurent will take exception to its apparent first use as an official company name. Probably not, but it would be fun, wouldn’t it?

The news also firms up 300’s position, following recent speculation over its future. Main founder Lyor Cohen – of course – recently moved to a new job at YouTube, while another co-founder, Todd Moscowitz, last week launched a new joint venture with Universal.
