Applications open for Gilles Peterson’s artist development programme
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 12 May 2015
Gilles Peterson and his Brownswood Music company have launched an application process for their Future Bubblers artist development programme.
Funded by Arts Council England, Future Bubblers is a three year project to provide mentoring and support to a selection of upcoming musicians. Year one will be devoted to finding the ten candidates from applicants around the UK.
To ensure the maximum number of applicants, the project has announced four ways for artists to put their music forward. There’s the proper way (sending YouTube and SoundCloud links), the modest way (getting someone else to recommend you), the old school way (handing in a CD or USB stick), or the super old school way (getting the Brownswood team to come and see you play live).
Focus cities are Nottingham and Salford, with a third to be nominated by the public, though applications are welcome from all over the UK. Even London.
