The solo project of Under The Influence Of Giants frontman Aaron Bruno, AWOLNATION arrives at considerable speed, knocking down doors, walls, small children and anything else in the way. A furious concoction of hip hop, dance beats, pop and Little Richard-esque whooping, he’s just finished a US tour supporting Weezer and is set to play his first UK show at The Barfly in Camden tonight, ahead of the release of debut EP ‘Back From Earth’ through Red Bull Records later this year.
The opening track from the EP, ‘Burn It Down’, and a remix of the same track by Innerpartysystem, are available to download for free (in exchange for your email address) from the AWOLNATION website, where the EP itself is also streaming in full. As a statement of intent, ‘Burn It Down’ is strong, and if the live show lives up to the posturing of the record, this could just be your new favourite band.
