Approved: Charlotte Spiral
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 21 November 2019
Amy Spencer and Avi Barath – aka Charlotte Spiral – have announced that they will release their debut EP, ‘Ideal Life’, early next year. The first track to be released from it is the entrancing ‘Wide Eyed’.
“‘Wide Eyed’ is about wishing it was easier to enjoy the simple things in life, instead of comparing yourself to the people around you”, say the duo. “It’s about wanting to be able to achieve something easily but being frustrated by the difficulties you face to get to it”.
The sound of the record was drawn out by producer Dan Carey, of whom they say: “Dan’s method of working is based on making quick decisions and committing to them, which resulted in a sound that feels very instinctive and strong in its identity”.
You can catch Charlotte Spiral live at Speedy Wunderground’s ‘Year Four’ launch at The Social in London on 7 Dec, and supporting Alice Boman at London’s Union Chapel on 25 Feb. ‘Ideal Life’ will be out on 7 Feb.
