Released last week, producer Dé Dé Mouse’s latest album ‘Be Yourself’ is an explosion of joyous beats and cut up vocals – or, as he describes it, “super super brilliant, groovy and emo”.
Opening track ‘Be Yourself’ sets the tone for the record straight off, with synths that pop off like fireworks and vocals that almost sound like they’re saying something. Deeper into the album, ‘Scat N Shout’ ups the energy further, bringing in old school hip hop influences to help keep the pace.
Dé Dé Mouse is set to unveil his new live show at two dates in Japan in the coming weeks. He’ll play Metro in Kyoto on 31 Aug, followed by Shibuya O-East in Tokyo on 14 Sep.
