Already a couple of years into a lauded career – originally under the name Happy Meal Ltd, until McDonald’s lawyers noticed – HMLTD are set to release new EP, ‘Hate Music Last Time Delete’ on 6 Jul.

“I came across the band online and my brain exploded”, says the EP’s producer Justin Tranter. “The tracks, the guitar tones, the lyrics, the beautifully odd vocal, and the brilliant visual aesthetic. I stalked them online until they would work with me, and they finally replied, flew out to LA and it was love at first sound”.

Ahead of the EP release, they’ve released new single, ‘Pictures Of You’, of which the band say: “In the internet age, nothing is ever truly removable, and no one entirely forgettable. The effect this has on love and heartbreak is tragic. ‘Pictures Of You’ was written as a song about masturbating to photos, sent by your ex-partner, that you can’t delete”.

“We look at old photos or videos and believe we still love the person in them, but really, we just love that image of them”, they continue. “Then those images become mere vehicles for our own self-love. Like Narcissus himself, you lose yourself in the reflection offered up by these images and the tragedy is complete”.

The band have numerous festival dates booked for the summer, and will be supporting Nine Inch Nails in the US in December. Right now, here’s the video for ‘Pictures Of You’:
