Approved: Khalab

Afrofuturist producer Khalab is set to release his new album, ‘Black Noise 2048’, next month through On The Corner Records. And with two incredibly impressive tracks from it already out in the world – ‘Zaire’ and ‘Dense’ – that release date can’t come soon enough.
Released earlier this year, ‘Zaire’ is built around quick, clipped polyrhythms that are both disorientating and encapsulating. The more recent ‘Dense’ features two of several guests that appear on the album: percussionist Tommaso Cappellato and Melt Yourself Down saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings.
Together the two tracks weave an intricate blend of future bass, jazz and field recordings that elevates Khalab’s sound further. Watch the video for ‘Dense’ here:
