Gaining ever increasing recognition on the UK jazz scene over the last year, Kokoroko have announced that they will release their debut EP on 8 Mar. The release comes through the ever reliable Brownswood Recordings, which featured the band’s debut track, ‘Abusey Junction’, on last year’s ‘We Out Here’ compilation.
Performing live since 2014, the hours Kokoroko put in before finally hitting the studio is apparent. Not just eight talented musicians, their songwriting skills are finely honed – everyone knowing exactly when to step back and leave space for the music to unfurl.
Like ‘Abusey Junction’, new track ‘Uman’ has a pretty laid back feel, but nonetheless ups the tempo and sets a pace more suited to the dancefloor. Listen to ‘Uman’ here:
