Approved: Melody’s Echo Chamber
By Aly Barchi | Published on Tuesday 5 February 2013
The Domino/Weird World-signed Melody Prochet had a classical schooling as a child in Paris, beginning via the viola. After that, she started playing in bands like the since-dissolved My Bee’s Garden, and began a Perth-based collaboration with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, as has since been immortalised in her eponymous debut LP as Melody’s Echo Chamber.
A medley of earnest Parisian chic, breathy naïveté and the hippy-ish, psych-tiled dreaming spires she and Parker co-created in Perth, ‘MED’ has it all, as you’ll be able to hear when Prochet and her relatively new live band play the first in a five date British tour on 3 Mar at Brighton’s The Haunt.
She’s releasing ‘MED’ track ‘Crystallised’ as an add-on to that live activity on 18 Mar. It’ll be paired with ‘Je Me Perds De Vue’ (‘I’m Losing Sight Of Myself’), a forwards play of ‘IsThatWhatYouSaid’, as initially featured on the LP in reverse.
