A rare ‘band variety’ signing to Glasgow’s mainly electronic LuckyMe label, Naked – aka Mykki Blanco’s least likely ‘Moshin In The Front’ collaborators Agnes Gryczkowska, Alex Johnston and Grant Campbell – this week release their first EP ‘Youth Mode’.
From it, lead track ‘Void’ is all a-glimmer with hints of the trio’s Scots rock kin Cocteau Twins’ ultra-fine pop translucency, also tying in sonically with bands like America’s Beach House and Tamaryn and, maybe less intentionally, David Sylvan and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s clandestine 1980s hit ‘Forbidden Colours’.
Now working on a first album with LuckyMe’s in-house producer guy Jacques Greene, please now catch on to the above-titled ‘Void’, and/or click on this link to visit the band’s official website, if only to save Googling ‘Naked’.
