Nathan Haines

The Old Topolski Gallery on the Southbank will be serving up some soul, jazz, funk and deep laid-back house in its new bar this weekend at the launch of its new Sunday Supplement night. Saxophonist and flautist Nathan Haines will be performing with his band and hugely underrated UK soulstress Vanessa Freeman.

As well as launching the new weekly live music show, this will also be the first in a series of monthly Soul On The South Bank parties.

As well as the live music, Dr Bob Jones will be DJing. He has clocked up well over four decades on the wheels of steel playing inspirational soul music, so he knows what he’s talking about. A bit of a legend, and I still fondly remember him from his Kiss 100 days. He’ll be backed up by Al and Ket – the residents from Mucho Soul.

Here are a couple of collaborations from Haines and Freeman to get you ready:

Sunday 15 Jun, Bar Topolski, 150-152 Hungerford Arches, Concert Hall Approach, London, SE1 8XU, £0-3, 3-10pm, more info here.
