Approved: Porcelain Raft
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 2 June 2010
As Porcelain Raft, multi-instrumentalist Mauro Remiddi creates songs which drift through dreamy worlds, drenched in reverb and echoing with shimmering guitar. At his live shows, he seemingly effortlessly manipulates a sampler and loop pedals while also playing keyboard, guitar and singing, recreating the lush soundscapes of his recordings.
The project is still at a relatively early stage – despite his impressive talents, Remiddi has only performed a handful of live shows so far – but he has still managed to release two EPs this year, ‘Curve’ and ‘Gone Blind’, which are filled with beautiful collisions of dream-pop and electronica. You can stream both EPs (and an extra track) on the Porcelain Raft Bandcamp page and buy them for the bargain price of 99p.
