Musician and filmmaker Yv Shells has released new single ‘Loss’, a dreamy neo-soul track that sits in contrast to his punky 2021 debut ‘Joy’. While both tracks may seem opposed sonically, it’s nonetheless possible to hear through lines between them, placing the initial building blocks for a world designed by someone who thinks visually as well as musically.
“’Loss’ is a reflection on an addictive relationship and looking at how you can lose yourself in these situations”, he says of the new track. “It’s a song about trying to separate the bad from the good and the paradoxical nature of wanting to stay in a bad situation”.
