Single Review: Attic Lights – Late Night Sunshine (Universal Island Records)

Attic Lights

I think it’s required now that every Attic Lights review comes complete with an appraisal of their “sumptuous harmonies”. And though I may be loathe to follow Q’s opinion, it’s as valid a statement as frothing over the lyrics of Morrissey, the song-writing of Paul McCartney or the imagination of Bowie. They’re what made their previous efforts, ‘Wendy’ and ‘Bring You Down’, so enjoyable, and ‘Late Night Sunshine’ is no exception, another comforting duvet of blissed boy vocals. The rest of what’s on offer isn’t quite as strong as their previous efforts though, but for pop to keep you warm in the chilly winter nights, few would find themselves cursing having Attic Lights introduced into their lives.
