Saint Etienne’s Bob Stanley has curated a mini-season of films to be shown at the Barbican in London, mainly to mark the release of his new book, ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah: The Story Of Modern Pop’.
Starting on 3 Oct with a talk, signing, and a look at Alan Lewens’ ‘Arena’ doc ‘The Very Strange Story Of The Legendary Joe Meek’, it’ll go on to feature Africa-set festival film ‘Soul Power’ and Milos Forman’s Carly Simon-starring ‘Taking Off’. Info at this link.
Stanley will also promote the book with an appearance and reading at Rough Trade East on 16 Oct, talking ‘pop nostalgia’ with Scritti Politti and writer Sian Pattenden. Details here.
