Universal’s brand spanking new(ish) label services business Caroline International has a boss for its French unit, Thomas Lorain, who comes to the major from working in France’s indie sector, most recently for Wagram Music and before that Naïve. In his new role he will oversee the release of Caroline-repped records in France as well as seeking artist and indie label clients in the country.
He reports in jointly to joint Caroline MDs Michael Roe and Jim Chancellor who jointly said this: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Thomas to Caroline International. He has such an impressive track record of success with independent artists and labels both in France and internationally that he is the ideal person to launch our French company and build it into something very special for our partners”.
Lorain himself added: “I’m really excited to be joining Michael and Jim and all the team at Caroline. It is a real global music company, with strong expertise, resources and ambition. I feel very lucky to be a part of this superb team”.
