Keane will this week team up with fashion brand Burberry to stage a “digitally charged event” in Beijing that will use “groundbreaking virtual imagery to create a completely unique experience”, whatever the hell that means. The event, which will be hosted by Burberry designer Christopher Bailey, will be the tedious warblers’ first ever Chinese gig, and will also be streamed online via both Keane and Burberry’s websites.

Keane’s Tom Chaplin told reporters: “I met Christopher Bailey a few years ago in a room full of incredible clothes designed by the man himself. He’s a big fan of Keane and I’m a big fan of what he does for Burberry so we hit it off. Then far too long went by until at the beginning of this year Christopher suggested that we should team up to create an incredible event combining music, new technology and fashion in one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting cities, Beijing. It’ll be our first trip to China, and we hope to put on a show that will surprise and delight the folks of that mysterious, fascinating and brilliant country”.
