Music industry conference and showcase festival Canadian Music Week has announced the appointment of John Kastner as its new Festival Programmer.
A musician himself, Kastner has fronted bands including Asexuals, Doughboys and All Systems Go!, and continues to play live as well as writing music for film and television. He joins CMW after seven years as Programming Specialist at another Toronto-based showcase festival, NXNE.
CMW President Neill Dixon told CMU: “We are thrilled to have John Kastner join our team. His fresh outlook, enthusiasm, and energy is infectious and an opportune ignition to take our festival to the next level”.
Kastner added: “I’m excited to be joining the CMW team, and eager to make my contribution to the already internationally lauded music conference and festival”.
