Single Review: Charlotte Gainsbourg – Live At Sunset Sound (Because Music)

Charlotte Gainsbourg always seems to do ten times better with Beck by her side, who is, debatably, one of the greatest musicians and producers of our time. ‘Live At Sunset Sound’, which has been produced by the man himself, is a collection of five live recordings from her most recent (and Beck produced) album ‘IRM’: ‘Time Of Assassins’, ‘Heaven Can Wait’, ‘Greenwich Mean Time’, the delectable ‘Voyage’ and ‘In The End’.
So perfect is it, you would almost never be able to tell that ‘Live At Sunset Sound’ is a session recording. Lush with rich instrumentals, backing vocals from Beck, and, of course, overlayed with Gainsbourg’s uniquely beautiful voice, it is a sharp, gorgeous record that showcases the best of the best from two extremely talented artists.
