CMU Editor to lead music journalism course
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 15 January 2014
CMU Editor Andy Malt is to take over the teaching of the London Journalism Centre’s music journalism course later this month. The eight week evening course will provide an introduction to the world of music journalism, from writing technique to pitching articles to editors. Two sessions will also be taught by Clash Magazine Features Editor Matt Bennett.
Says Andy: “I’m really excited to be taking over this well-established introductory course. Along with Matt, I’ll be breaking down the different aspects of music journalism in 2014, as well as showing how it fits into the wider music industry. I believe that the best way to learn anything is to do it, so there will be a heavy practical side to the course with plenty of guidance and feedback throughout. It should provide a strong basis on which to build further”.
Clash Magazine is also offering an internship to one student at the end of the course, providing an opportunity to put the skills learned into action immediately.
The eight week course begins on 29 Jan at the London Journalism Centre in Dalston, costing £225. To apply click here.
