This week CMU Insights has been in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia running a series of music copyright workshops as part of the British Council’s Selector Pro programme. The internationally focused ‘Global Music Rights Business’ seminar provides a beginner’s guide to music copyright, explains how copyright systems differ around the world, and runs through how the music industry goes about turning its intellectual property rights into revenue. The final edition takes place in the Armenian capital of Yerevan tomorrow.

Meanwhile, from next week, the spotlight will fall on the same topics – but closer to home – as the CMU Insights evening seminar series ‘Making Money From Music Copyright’ returns to the London HQ of Lewis Silkin. The first seminar on Monday provides a beginner’s guide to music copyright. Then the following week it’s music licensing, and the week after that an overview of the music rights business in 2019. Tickets are available for each seminar for £49.99 or for all three for just £125, including VAT and booking fees.
