CMU’s One Liners: Dave Grohl responds to Rockin1000, Mogwai score atomic bomb doc, Enter Shikari release new video, and more

Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Dave Grohl has responded to the 1000 Italians who performed Foo Fighters’ ‘Learn To Fly’ in the hope of luring the band to their country to play a show. In a short video he says (in Italian) that the band “are coming”, so that worked out well.

• Mogwai have written the score for a new BBC Four documentary on death and life after the atomic bomb as part of a series of programmes marking the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. The film will air this Sunday at 9pm. Watch a trailer here.

• Enter Shikari have teamed up with ‘Ren & Stimpy’ animator Peter MacAdams to create the video for the fourth single from their ‘The Mindsweep’ album, ‘There’s A Price On Your Head’.

• Danny Brown and Clams Casino have teamed up on a new track for Adult Swim’s singles series.

• Motion City Soundtrack will release their sixth album, ‘Panic Stations’, on 18 Sep. From it, this is ‘Lose Control’.

• US Girls, aka Meghan Remy, will be in the UK for a brief tour in October, following the 25 Sep release of her new album, ‘Half Free’. She’ll play Headrow House in Leeds on 26 Oct, Broadcast in Glasgow on 27 Oct, and London’s Corsica Studios on 28 Oct.

• No Joy have announce UK tour dates for September, which will include an appearance at Liverpool Psych Fest on 26 Sep and a London show at the Victoria in Dalston on 30 Sep. Not only that, you can now watch the video for ‘Hollywood Teeth’ from their recently released ‘More Faithful’ album.
