Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Xtra Mile has signed Ducking Punches to release their third album next year. Frontman Dan Allen is “delighted” while Xtra Mile MD Charlie Caplowe is “thrilled”.

• Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney have written an open letter to David Cameron about their Meat Free Monday campaign, as the Prime Minister and other world leaders prepare for the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference.

• Musicians including David Bowie, Björk, Thom Yorke and Damon Albarn are among creative types to sign another COP21-related open letter. This one to UN Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres comes from creative sustainability charity Julie’s Bicycle.

• MIA has premiered the video for her new single ‘Borders’ on Apple Music.

Here’s a new track from Connie Constance. It’s called ‘Answer’.

• Femme has released the video for new single ‘Gold’. “This is another video straight out of the Femme Factory”, she says. And I don’t think any of us could argue with that.

• Chvrches have announced two shows for next year. They will play the Royal Albert Hall in London on 31 Mar and SSE Hydro in Glasgow on 2 Apr. Tickets on sale Friday.

• Bring Me The Horizon will play a show for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall on 22 Apr next year. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am.

• Joy Division’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’ has been voted the best band t-shirt of all time by BBC Radio 6 Music listeners. Announced on Friday by Steve Lamacq, the shirt, with its Peter Saville-designed artwork, will now be displayed in the Design Museum in London.
