• Roc Nation has signed a publishing deal with Gavin Rossdale off of Bush. He’s “THRILLED” about it all. Hope he still has time to write some songs now he’s being a judge on the all-new ‘Voice’ show over there on ITV.

• Maria Pallante, the recently axed US Register Of Copyrights, has formally resigned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. When she was removed from the job running the American Copyright Office she was given a consolation prize position in the Library Of Congress, which oversees the copyright unit. But she’s confirmed she doesn’t want it.

• Music publisher Bucks Music Group has announced three new hires within its sync division: Holly Manners, formerly with Soho Music; Angus Fulton, who previously did sync things at Warner/Chappell; and Tom Frank, formerly a syncer at [PIAS]. Charlotte Robson also becomes Sync Assistant having completed the firm’s internship programme.

• The dance music focused Brighton Music Conference will take place from 27-28 Apr next year. In Brighton. It’s a conference. About music.

• The Shins have released new single ‘Dead Alive’, taken from their forthcoming new album.

• They have released a new track based on the guitar riff from ‘Polly’ by Nirvana. Listen to ‘Rather Die’ here.

• Hudson Mohawke has released new track ‘Shanghaied’, taken from his soundtrack to videogame ‘Ded Sec – Watch Dogs 2’, which is out on 11 Nov.

• Sleigh Bells have released the video for new single ‘I Can Only Stare’. Their new album, ‘Jessica Rabbit’, is out on 11 Nov. They also play The Dome in Tufnell Park tonight, but that’s sold out.

• PC Music’s GFOTY has released a new mixtape, ‘Call Him A Doctor’.

• Sacred Paws have announced that they will release their debut album, ‘Strike A Match’, on 27 Jan. Here’s new single ‘Rest’.

• Ekkah have announced a new single, ‘Can’t Give It Up’. They’ve also let slip that they’ll be on tour next month.

• Tegan & Sara have announced that they will tour the UK in February next year, kicking off at The Roundhouse in London on 13 Feb.

• Pete Doherty has announced two UK live shows in December. He will play The Forum in London on 6 Dec and Albert Hall in Manchester on 7 Dec.

• Nightwave will perform live at Echoes in London on 8 Nov.

• US collecting society ASCAP will be giving its Golden Note Award to Duran Duran at its big annual back-slapping bash in London next month. No confirmation yet as to which note employed by the band was the golden one.

• It was the Music Ally Digital Music Awards last night. Were there winners? Oh boy, yes, there were winners. Here are some winners.
