Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Hackney Empire has announced it will hold a fundraising event called ‘One More Song’ next year. Various East London-linked acts will perform, and will stay on stage longer if fans donate more money to the venue during the show. More details to be announced in due course.

• Beats Music will apparently close for good on 30 Nov.

• Vevo has updated its mobile app, improving management of favourite videos and discovery of new ones. It features a new personalised ‘Spotlight’ playlist for each user. “Repositioning”, said CEO Erik Huggers.

• ITV viewers have voted ‘Hey Jude’ their favourite Beatles number one. This was announced this week on one-off show ‘The Nation’s Favourite Beatles Number One’. Good to know, eh? Good to know. “There’s something wrong with you”, said Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson in relation to this news. It’s possible there were some other words before that, but who has time to check these things?

• Missy Elliott’s only back with a new single. Shut up and listen here.

Here’s Natalie Prass covering Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound Of Silence’ from her new EP, ‘Live At Space Studios’, out 20 Nov.

• Allie X has shared a new song called ‘Never Enough’.
