Other notable announcements and developments today…
• I should have mentioned this last week when it was ‘news’, but Madonna became the first artist to premiere a music video on Snapchat’s new Snap Channel. I’m sure this is as exciting to read now as it would have been on Friday. Don’t rush to check it out though because, as is the way with Snapchat, it’s gone now. And yet the world still turns.
• Jaden Smith has ‘dropped’ a new EP. It’s called ‘This Is The Album’ because he’s a contrary little fucker.
• Incubus have released a new track called ‘Absolution Calling’. It’s taken from the first of two EPs they’ll be releasing this year under their new record deal with Island.
• I don’t know about you, but I’d quite like to see a new Zhala video. What? There is one? Why didn’t you tell me?!
• The Fall are touring! The Fall are touring! The Fall! Touring! They’re playing shows in London and Hastings. That’s a tour, right? Tour! Yes! Electric Brixton on 24 Apr, St Mary In The Castle in Hastings on 25 Apr. Tour! Tour! Tour!
• Trash Kit are very good. This you already know. And as we’re aware of that, why don’t we all get together and see them live while they’re touring the UK? Power Lunches on 15 Feb? Or supporting Deerhoof at Oval Space on 26 Feb? There are dates outside London too but, ugh, can you imagine? Now listen to ‘Leaves’.
