Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Perhaps inspired by Paul McCartney, the only living songwriter to have scored more American number ones than him, Max Martin has also renewed his agreement with US collecting society ASCAP, allowing the ASCAPers to collect all of his performing right royalties Stateside.

• Syco’s Global Head Of Business Affairs Matthew Angel has joined telly show maker Objective Media Group, where he will be Chief Operating Officer. “It was always going to take a lot for me to leave Syco, where I have had four amazing years, but I simply couldn’t resist this new challenge”, he said.

• Angel’s new gig makes more sense when you remember Syco is a TV company as well as a record label. And Syco the telly show maker signed a new three year deal to keep on making ‘X-Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ for ITV last week. No news yet on what Mel & Sue think of the deal.

• 1Xtra evening show host MistaJam will become Radio 1 evening show host MistaJam next January, when he takes over Annie Mac’s daily show while she is on maternity leave. Meanwhile, Danny Howard will fill in for Mac on her Friday evening Radio 1 show.

Here’s Tinashe’s new single ‘Company’.

• Warpaint have released a new track, ‘Whiteout’. New album ‘Heads Up’ is out this week.

• Brandt Brauer Frick have announced that they will release a new album, ‘Joy’, on 28 Oct. Here’s new single ‘You Can Buy My Love’.
