Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Placebo have signed a new global digital services deal with Kobalt Label Services for their first six albums. Says, KLS UK MD Vincent Clery-Melin: “I believe this new digitally-focused services approach will help showcase Kobalt’s leadership in the fields of digital monetisation, transparent reporting, digital marketing and access to technology and innovation”.

• The Reeperbahn music industry conference and showcase festival has hired Paul Cheetham as its new International Project Manager. Cheetham previously held a similar role at Berlin Music Week.

• Eels will release a new live film and album on 4 Apr titled ‘Royal Albert Hall’. Coincidentally, it was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall. Here is a trailer.

• You may have thought that Nick Jonas’s ‘Nick Jonas’ album was already out in the UK, but it is not. It will be on 2 Mar. Here’s new single ‘Jealous.

Björk producer Arca performed a “bespoke musical score” to some fashion event in Italy earlier this week. You can listen to it here.

• The video for Ghostpoet’s new single ‘Off Peak Dreams’ is now available. It cost £2068 to make. I’m not really sure why I’ve been told this, but I have. And now I’m telling you. Anyway, this is what just over two grand gets you, video-wise.

• CMU approved artist Petite Noir has put forward a track from his upcoming ‘King Of Anxiety’ EP. It’s called ‘Shadows’ and is here.

• Krill have announced that they will release a new album called ‘A Distant Fist Unclenching’ on 16 Feb, through Steak Club Records. A week later they will begin their first ever UK tour. Let’s all listen to this song they did called ‘Foot’.
