Other notable announcements and developments today…
• As expected, Rita Ora has quit as a judge on ‘The X-Factor’ after just one year. Music and film commitments are being touted as the reason, though it’s also rumoured that she’s going back to ‘The Voice’ as it moves to ITV.
• Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor will appear on a future episode of ‘QI’. He was on an episode of spin-off podcast ‘No Such Thing As A Fish’ released on vinyl by Alcopop! Records last year.
• Zayn Malik has released a video for ‘Like I Would’. For such an over the top production, you’d think he might put a little more effort into his dance moves.
• Here’s the new Pet Shop Boys single, ‘Twenty-Something’.
• Here’s the video for Kaytranada’s ‘Lite Spots’. He’s headlining the Troxy in London this Friday too.
• Ex-Klaxon James Righton has released a video for ‘Open Up The Sky’ from his new project Shock Machine.
• Honne have announced that they will release their debut album ‘Warm On A Cold Night’ on 22 Jul. Here’s the video for new single ‘Someone That Loves You’, featuring Izzy Bizu.
• Boris are reissuing their ‘Pink’ album to mark its tenth anniversary. The new package will include nine previously unreleased tracks, including this one ‘Are You Ready?’
• Dälek have released the ‘Dälek Soundscapes Sound Pack’ for music software Analog Rytm. A collection of studio outtakes that developed into new album ‘Asphalt For Eden’, you can also listen to the tracks here.
• Having played a sold out show at The Roundhouse in London last night, Birdy has announced that she’ll be touring in October and November.
• Jake Bugg is going on tour in October. He’ll be playing songs like this one, new single ‘Love, Hope And Misery’.
• The Appleseed Cast will be touring the UK next month to mark the tenth anniversary of their ‘Peregrin’ album.
