Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Infectious has confirmed that it has signed The DMAs to a worldwide deal excluding the US and Australia. In the latter the band will remain signed to I Oh You, part of the Mushroom Group (old friends of Infectious from back in the day), while Mom + Pop will handle America. The label that is, not your mum and dad. “Forward”, said Infectious boss Korda Marshall.

• Marina Diamandis, aka Marina And The Diamonds, has signed a modelling contract with Select Model Management. She joins other musicians like Tom Odell, Paloma Faith, Kelis, Abbey Clancy, Millie Macintosh, Jess Glynne and Plan B on the company’s books. “Work”, said Diamonadis. “Very”, added Select’s Kirsty Reilly.

• Lady Gaga has been in the studio with Paul McCartney and a load of other people she didn’t feel the need to name in an Instagram post. Yeah, take that Mike McCready from Pearl Jam. In fact, forget about all the others, here’s a picture of just Gacca and Maga.

• What’s Kwabs doing? Right at this second, I do not know. But in the video for his new single, ‘Perfect Ruin’, he’s walking around in the snow. It’s possible he might be doing that right now as well. It’s also possible his debut album ‘Love + War’ will be out in May too (because that’s when his label say it will be).

• East India Youth put out an announcement about his second album last week and had the cheek not to accompany it with a video. Apparently he thought revealing a new record deal at the same time would be enough. Thankfully he’s made amends now and we can all move on with our lives.

• You can now listen to the debut EP by the recently approved Kali Uchis in full. Nine tracks in number, it features production from Tyler The Creator, Kaytranda, BadBadNotGood and Diplo, amongst others.

• The second release on Bloc’s new record label is the work of techno producer Alex Coulton. Check out some previews before its release on 23 Feb here.

• Genre-bending duo The Lost Art have released a new video for a track from their debut album, which came out last year. They’re on tour in March and April too. But for now, here’s the video for ‘Equals’.

• Psych types Lost Dawn will release their debut album on 23 Apr. There’ll also be a gig on 28 Feb at London’s Shacklewell Arms, and before all that a single, called ‘Count On Me’. And you can count on me to link to the video here.

• Suffocated by demand, Hozier has tacked a third London show onto the end of his upcoming UK tour. He’ll now play The Forum in London on 3 Jun. Dates and tickets for the full tour here.

• Of Montreal have announced UK tour dates to follow the 2 Mar release of their new album, ‘Aureate Gloom’. Amongst the various shows, they’ll play the Islington Assembly Hall on 22 Apr. Full ‘deets’ here.

• Run The Jewels have released a video of themselves chatting politics with a bunch of actual children.
