And Finally
Cole to stay as Cole
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 16 August 2010
Cheryl Cole will not revert to her maiden name of ‘Tweedy’ on her next album, as some had speculated. It was thought the Girl Aloud would perform under her maiden name once again after the acrimonious break up of her marriage to footballer and professional idiot Ashley Cole.
But insiders say Cole – probably rightly – feels reverting to her original surname would just be confusing, especially outside the UK, given she’s enjoyed all of her success as a solo performer under her married name.
Apparently she was in part inspired by Tina Turner who kept her married surname after ending her abusive marriage with Ike Turner.
