Commercial Radio Awards presented, 40 years celebrated

So the commercial radio sector gathered in London this week for its annual back-slapping fest, the one where the unfairly over-funded (or so most in commercial radio would say) BBC is locked out of the room.

And this year the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards were not only about celebrating the year just gone in the sector, but also the full four decades that commercial radio has now been on the air in the UK. Perhaps also noting that those BBC radio services now so loved by the music community would probably never have developed had the early commercial radio operators not reinvented the medium in the 1970s.

Anyway, have a list of all the people being celebrated in commercial radio in 2013, after a little bit of nostalgia with this RadioCentre video celebrating those 40 years on air:
