David Bowie launches Golden Years remix app
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 5 April 2011
David Bowie and EMI have announced that he will release an iPhone app which allows fans to remix his 1975 song ‘Golden Years’. The releases follows last year’s ‘Space Oddity’ remix app.
Through the app, which will be released on 6 Jun, fans will be able to muck about with eight steams (bounced down from the original sixteen track recordings), or they can just shake their iPhone and allow the app to come up with a new version of the track on its own. The finished results can then be exported as an MP3.
Coinciding with the app release, Bowie will release a new EP of remixes created by KCRW DJs Jeremy Sole, Anthony Valadez, Eric J Lawrence, and Chris Douridas. Their remixes can be heard now at www.kcrw.com/bowie.
