E Street band mimed too
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 5 February 2009
Following all the hoo and some of the haa around the news Jennifer Hudson mimed the American national anthem at last weekend’s Superbowl, it’s now been revealed Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band were also pretending to perform along to a pre-recorded soundtrack at the big event. Springsteen, though, did sing live.
Organisers of the Super Bowl say much of the music at the big game is pre-recorded because there simply isn’t time to set up and sound check each band in the short slots that they have to play. Plus, from past experience, when female vocalists do sing live at the Super Bowl their bras fall off, and we don’t want to go through all that again do we?
