Eagles launch lawsuit against man screening bootleg footage
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 1 December 2014
Don Henley and Glenn Frey of The Eagles have launched legal action against a man they say screened bootleg live footage of the band at a ticketed event back in October without permission.
According to New York Daily News, Henley and Frey filed a lawsuit in New York last week, claiming that the man, named Frank Shelley, is using the film to “bolster his reputation as a purported music industry ‘insider’ with close connections and ties to many classic rock greats”. They add that they have previously sent cease-and-desist letters, with which Shelley has refused to comply.
Neither side has commented on the case publicly as yet.
