Earl Sweatshirt, Warpaint and King Krule pull studio all-nighter

King Krule & Earl Sweatshirt

A pack of wildcard artists – not least Earl Sweatshirt, Warpaint, King Krule and Jono Ma off of Jagwar Ma – all spent an entire night earlier this week ‘vibing’ in Sydney. Like, they didn’t even sleep! Crazy.

Though the collaboration sounds arbitrary, all the acts are in fact sharing a bill at the same festival, Australia’s Laneway, which is always a nice icebreaker. And links between the grouping don’t stop there. Krule has in recent times been snapped snacking with Earl and his OFWGTKA compadre Tyler, The Creator. And, as Pitchfork points out, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa has played on Jagwar Ma’s track ‘Howlin’, with Jono Mar also working on Warpaint’s sophomore LP. Because Mozgawa is Australian, and so are Jagwar Ma, and that’s how it works.

Find pics and proof of the group’s twelve hour sojourn, which took place in Stones Throw signing Jonti’s Sydney studio, in this FB post by his management firm Astral People.
