East 17 to perform without Brian Harvey
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 20 May 2011
East 17’s Tony Mortimer, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell have announced that they will head out on tour without Brian Harvey, who seems unable to commit to the band. He probably ate too many baked potatoes, or something. They last regrouped in 2006, but a subsequent tour was then called off.
Explaining why they were now going ahead with some activity sans Harvey, the group posted this statement on their Facebook page: “Friends! Time to set the record straight, as you have all been asking! East 17 were ready to get back out there, Brian didn’t turn up to rehearsals [or the] studio and was cancelling gigs before we even had a chance to do them! Brian was destroying any chance for success again as a band so we had to make a decision, not only for us but for you: ‘The Fans’!”
