By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 3 April 2014
The Wide Days music industry convention returns to Edinburgh next week for its fifth edition since launching in 2010.
Taking place on 9-10 Apr, the event will feature a range of panels, with day one focussing on the live sector and day two on issues relating to rights holders, as well as a tightly curated showcase programme. Amongst this year’s speakers are YouTube’s Head Of Music Partnerships Derk Van Der Woude, PPL Director Keith Harris, ITB booking agent Phyllis Belezos, BBC Radio Scotland presenter Vic Galloway, and Live Nation tour accountant Fiona Harte.
Bands showcasing this year include: Angus Munro, Birdhead, The Jellyman’s Daughter, Law, Model Aeroplanes, Schwefelgelb and Tuff Love.
Says Wide Days founder Olaf Furniss: “Wide Days 2013 was our most successful event yet, with unprecedented media coverage and directors from some of the world’s leading music companies attending. Wide Days 2014 is our fifth anniversary and we plan to make it even better”.
