Evanescence re-recruit former guitarist
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 12 April 2011
Evanescence – remember them, sorry, have I just brought back some bad memories? – have recruited back a former guitarist to help with an in-development third album. Troy McLawhorn toured with Evanescence in 2007 and 2008, but has since been mainly working with South African alt-metallers Seether. However, they announced McLawhorn had left their band last month, strongly indicating he was returning to Evanesence’s Amy Lee, and that has now seemingly been confirmed. Lee, McLawhorn et al apparently hope to have a new long player out by the end of the year.
NOTE: As the many commentators below have pointed out, this story was originally published with a picture of We Are The Fallen, who are sort of the anti-Evanescence, or, rather, the place where former Evanescencers (and/or former ‘Idol’ contestants) loiter. We’re still not entirely sure how that happened, but have rectified the situation with a lovely picture of the main thing missing from our original photo, the all important core of the E band that is Ms Amy Lee. We apologise for the photo error. But not for suggesting Evanescence’s music is a little tedious, because it is. We ran it through a special machine and that confirmed it. Well, unless it turns out we ran We Are The Fallen though our tedium-meter by mistake. But look, this error message has ended up being longer than the original story so I ought to stop writing.
