Live Review: Fenech-Soler at The Great Escape 2010 on 13 May
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 20 May 2010
Skinny jeans and sparkly shirts will only get you so far, and with pseudo genres and ‘scenes’ being thrown up at a ridiculous rate these days, you’d be forgiven for quickly losing interest in any band surrounded by possibly unwarranted hype. Luckily, Fenech-Soler have the songs and energy that may see them have more longevity than musical cynics would expect. With a similar sound that a few years ago won the Klaxons the Mercury Prize, but not taking themselves too seriously, there’s a surprising element of fun to the electro-pop band’s show and the infectious sound is driven with a compelling beat that has everyone dancing.
